Mary Lou Moore pondered new paths for purpose when considering her upcoming retirement from Intel. She opted to serve as an Encore Fellow through Experience Matters, an opportunity Intel generously offers to all of their retirees. Experience Matters connects passionate individuals with nonprofits who need their expertise. Mary Lou approached our cause; we both quickly decided we were a perfect fit for each other!
Mary Lou began her one-year fellowship last March and is energetically working with staff to develop robust outcomes evaluation measures for our many services. She also simultaneously researched options – together with staff and Gary Thuerk – to unify our databases. Thanks to a capacity-building grant from Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust, Duet purchased Raiser’s Edge.
Duet is very fortunate that Mary Lou will work part-time at the completion of her fellowship to help Duet transition to the new software. And, in our recent Charitable Tax Credit Campaign, Mary Lou reached out to friends to let them know about this win-win opportunity. Seven donated to our cause – the most secured by one person!
